If you live in France and receive unwanted telephone calls on a regular basis, you can register for free to block them.
Here is a step by step explanation in English to put your name down on this safe government registered web site:
Follow this link:
then click on
« Vous êtes un consommateur ».
Click on « Inscription »
Click on « démarrez votre inscription »
Enter your email address twice
Create a password then confirm the password
Click on Monsieur or Madame
Enter your surname, then first name, your phone numbers (land line then mobile)
Please note you can only enter French phone numbers.
Then the phone number you wish to block (Numéro personnel)
Tick the box « Je certifie avoir lu et accepté »
Enter the letters and numbers for the ‘Anti robot’
Finally, click on « Valider le formulaire »
Once you have registered you will receive an email confirming your registration. (check your spam!).
To finalise your registration, you need to click on the link they will send you and click on ‘ici’:
“pour finaliser votre inscription, vous devez impérativement confirmer la réception de ce courriel en cliquant ICI ».
That’s it, as simple as that! No more calls about double glazing whilst you are having your lunch!
It takes about 4 weeks for calls to stop. You will be on this list for 3 years. After the 3 years you will receive an email asking if you wish to renew your registration.
I registered a few months ago myself, and I still get a few calls. However when I mention I am on ‘Bloctel’, callers put the phone down on me! They know I can make a formal complaint and they can get fined up to €75 000.
Even if you don’t speak much French, just mention the magic word ‘bloctel’ and the callers will leave you alone!
If you can’t visit your local tax office in person, you can pay your Taxe Fonciere online. It’s rather straight-forward.

Numéro fiscal : enter your fiscal number which you will find on your income tax form or any other taxes (taxe d’habitation or taxe fonciere)

Enter the reference number of the tax you are paying.

Finally you will have to enter your bank details then your email address.
Once the tax is paid you will receive an email confirming your payment. Keep it for your records.
Please note you won’t be able to pay your French taxes online:
once you have missed the deadline
or if you have not received your taxe fonciere as you need the tax reference number.
